As part of its GreenTown program, Environment Victoria ran a sustainability themed arts project, with a group of children under twelve from March to October, 2012.
The photography competition, partnering with after school program LiveWires, aimed to encourage the children, who are residents of the Collingwood estate, to think creatively about sustainability and the environment around them. Recyclable cameras were distributed to the children and they were encouraged, through a workshop, to think outside the box in terms of their environment and to communicate their ideas through film photography.
