Navigating energy services in a changing climate


FREE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING FOR COMMUNITY WORKERS

Who is the training for?
Organisations and individuals working with low income and disadvantaged communities in the City of Yarra who are interested in issues of climate
change, and increasing their capacity to assist clients with energy bill issues.
 
The topics covered during the session will:
• Give you more ideas on ways to save energy in the home and reduce energy bills
• Increase your knowledge of energy bills, contracts and concessions
• Give you options to assist clients manage their bills and debt
• Help you take action on issues in the energy market and know where to get help
• Provide you with more information about other energy programs available to your clients
 
Who is delivering the training?
The Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL) who have been at the forefront of research into the potential effects of climate change on disadvantaged people and communities. Drawing on this expertise, the training will be delivered by the BSL’s Financial Inclusion team, who has extensive experience in the delivery of MoneyMinded and financial capability training to community workers.
