Writers have always used social networks of friends, family and other writers to promote their work and improve their writing.
Today, these conversations are increasingly happening online. A social media presence is considered essential by many aspiring writers, but there is more to social networking than updating your Facebook status.
At this hands-on workshop journalist, blogger and editor Kelly Gardiner will guide emerging writers through the benefits and challenges of the social web.
Parents and their teenagers aged between 12-15 years are invited to participate in a research study titled: First Aid Training for Parents of Teenagers - a Randomized Controlled Trial (TPOT). The project is being led by Professor Tony Jorm from the Centre for Youth Mental Health, The University of Melbourne. One parent and one teenager per family in Victoria can take part (registration is done in pairs).
Participants required - FREE 2-day training course! Are you the parent of a teenager aged between 12 and 15 years? Would you like to learn how to better look after the physical or mental health of your teenager? A research team led by Professor Tony Jorm at the Centre for Youth Mental Health, The University of Melbourne is conducting a longitudinal study to assess whether parents who are trained in physical or mental health first aid respond differently to teenagers who develop physical or mental health problems.
