Today, these conversations are increasingly happening online. A social media presence is considered essential by many aspiring writers, but there is more to social networking than updating your Facebook status.

At this hands-on workshop journalist, blogger and editor Kelly Gardiner will guide emerging writers through the benefits and challenges of the social web.

North Carlton Neighbourhood Railway Station House is holding an afternoon of bocce, which will encourage neighbours to meet each other and enjoy good food, good company and some light exercise.

The event is $13 per person, which includes a simple lunch. Children under 12 years of age are free. There are also free bocce lessons for first-timers (it only takes a couple of minutes to learn).

The event will be held on Sunday 20 May from 11am - 12pm at the bocce courts beside the neighbourhood house, 20 Solly Avenue Princes Hill.

Parents and their teenagers aged between 12-15 years are invited to participate in a research study titled: First Aid Training for Parents of Teenagers - a Randomized Controlled Trial (TPOT). The project is being led by Professor Tony Jorm from the Centre for Youth Mental Health, The University of Melbourne. One parent and one teenager per family in Victoria can take part (registration is done in pairs).

Yarra Jets Women's Soccer club is looking for more players to join both women's teams - FFV State league 2 and metropolitan league. We are based in Clifton Hill/Fairfield.
We consist of a diverse mixture of women of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds, who all believe in learning soccer skills, gaining fitness, having lots of fun and socialising together regardless of status, ethnicity etc.

Our coaches, Victor Sekulov and Kate Jaceqicz have many years of experiences in coaching juniors, youth and senior teams.
