Have your say Celebrating Aboriginal Culture in Gertrude Street

Yarra City Council is seeking ideas and views from people about a proposal to recognise the contribution of Aboriginal people to the history and character of Gertrude Street in Fitzroy. Have your say Celebrating Aboriginal Culture in Gertrude Street

Stir your imagination on an Aboriginal history walking tour Free public walking tours of Gertrude Street’s historically significant places have been scheduled to inspire thoughts and ideas for the proposal.

The one hour long tours will be conducted by well-known members of the Aboriginal community including Uncle Jack Charles, Greg Fryer, Melodie Reynolds and Jason Tamiru. At the conclusion of the tour light refreshments will be served at MAYSAR (Melbourne Aboriginal Youth Sport and Recreation) 184–186 Gertrude Street, Fitzroy.
