Tax Help - Collingwood Community Information Centre (CCIC)

Saver Plus assists families on low incomes to develop a savings habit, build assets and improve financial capability. Participants set a savings goal and receive support and education to help them achieve it. When they reach their goal, ANZ matches their savings, dollar for dollar, up to $500.
Yarra residents will soon be able to recycle a wide range of goods, including e-waste, on one Saturday per month, with Council extending the opening hours at its recycling drop off point.
Council’s Clifton Hill recycling centre will open between 8am and Midday on the first Saturday of each month to accept recyclable waste, starting September 4.
Yarra Mayor Jane Garrett said giving people more opportunities to recycle was just one of the ways Council was working to reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfill.
An evaluation of a High Rise Recycling Project in Public Housing
This study of a recycling pilot project (HaRP) in the Fitzroy and Collingwood high-rise public housing estates found that many households had become involved in recycling, and so reduced the amount of recyclable material sent to landfill. It also highlighted the challenges of spreading the recycling message and of operating an efficient service in neighbourhoods where many residents come from diverse backgrounds and face complex disadvantages.
